The Arnold Palmer Scholarship Fund was established through a lead gift from golfing legend Arnold Palmer. Annual outflows of the endowment will be used to subsidize participant fees, purchase equipment, and provide transportation to ensure that The First Tee of Central Florida is able to maintain the policy that no child ever gets turned away for an inability to pay. The First Tee of Central Florida is committed to growing the fund to over $1,000,000 .
Since 2013, the proceeds from Swing for the King contributed over $100,000 to the Arnold Palmer Scholarship Fund.
The First Tee of Central Florida is a youth development organization that uses the game of golf to teach young people core values, life skills and healthy habits. We help shape the lives of kids and teens from all walks of life by introducing them to values inherent in the game of golf. Values like integrity, respect and perseverance. You can find The First Tee junior golf and life skills programs on golf courses, in elementary schools and at other youth development organizations.
Young people do not automatically act with integrity or demonstrate sportsmanship. The acquisition of values is often a by-product that evolves from an individuals experiences. Independent research confirms the youth development program delivered at The First Tee’s chapters instill life skills and core values in youth participants.
